What's included...
The basic birthday package includes the following
- Collection from any agreed meeting point in Rutland, or Peterborough Station if you are coming by high speed train from the south or the north. Oakham Station is another good meeting point because there is an hourly service linking to the West Midlands and East Anglia.
- Transport in a 4-wheel-drive 2006 Suzuki Jimny JLX 16v.
- The services of a guide who will take you to several locations with varying habitats in and close to Rutland.
Assistance to see and
identify as many species of birds as
possible.- Permits for Nature Reserves as required.
- Use of a telescope (Leica Apo televid 77 with a 20 - 60 zoom lens) and, if required, Swarovski 10x42 E binoculars.
- Hot drinks and biscuits.
- The basic package costs £120 per person (maximum 3).
What's not included?
- Main meals.
- Insurance. Please ensure you have adequate personal injury and property insurance as no liability can be accepted by us. Please inform us of any medical conditions that may be of relevance.
Optional extras
- A surprise birthday cake and candles.
- Pre-booked meal(s) at a pub or restaurant.
- Accommodation in Rutland - we can book B+B or hotel accommodation for you if required.
- A larger group. If there are more than three of you, we can use either a larger vehicle or a second vehicle and the services of a second driver/guide.
- Alternative itineraries. For example:
Snettisham is only 70 minutes from Peterborough Station. (i.e. London to North Norfolk in 2 hours!).
Welney for wintering swans.
Woodwalton Fen for Marsh Harriers.
