So what's this A+B business?

Sharp-eyed readers will have spotted that the authors of the books and the partners of A+B Books are the same people,

Alan Graham and Barrie Galpin.

And the plus sign? Well, they are Maths books, aren't they?

Having written Calculator Maths, we decided that it would be fun to set up our own small business to publish and distribute the books. We found a wacky cartoonist and the first series of books for the TI-80 was completed and published in August 1998. Two years later we published the TI-83 series of Calculator Maths.

In September 2001, 30 Calculator Lessons at KS3 was published - a bit of a departure since this was a photocopiable resource.
In September 2003, a similar book
30 Calculator Programs was published, and this was followed in 2005, First Lessons with graphics calculators.

Alongside the photocopiable resources, we began to develop a series of books aimed at Open University and other students aged 16 plus. Calculator Statistics and Calculator Calculus, were produced in September 2002, with the help of Jeanette Ward (cover design) and the Direct Printing Company, of Brixworth, Northants. Calculator Graphing, also in the series was published in March 2004.

The business is run from Barrie's home in Fineshade. We do most of the writing and all of the editing ourselves. Alan is responsible for marketing and promotion, while Barrie handles the distribution, accounts and admin.

And is it fun? You bet!
